Missing in Action

Well hasn't it been a while 😅

Feels an age since I wrote a blog, but now I'm finally getting back to normal. Hopefully, the blogs and the website will be back up and flowing in no time!

Where have I been, you ask? Well, on the 26th of April, I had scoliosis correction surgery. This involved 18 screws and 2 metal rods to be inserted into my spine to help correct the curve that had formed. This took around 8 1/2 hours to do, and I was actually knocked out for around 15 in total. (Least I got a good sleep in!)

Going under at 9:30 and waking up at 12 midnight was so confusing 😂 I have to shout out the NHS—everything they did was amazing. They really looked after me from the moment I was there till the day I left a week later!

The recovery for this type of operation is around 6-12 months, and it's currently been 6 weeks. The first 3-4 weeks were the worst as the pain and the ability to not be very mobile made me super frustrated as I could not do the things I wanted to, like going out and taking photos or being able to enjoy the summer weather. The last two weeks I have been moving so much more and getting about pretty much normally. There's still a long way to go, but I'm now able to recover and still do the things I love doing (e.g., photography).

I'm happy to share that I've got a new drone for my photography work! It allows me to capture stunning aerial shots and unique perspectives that were not possible before. I'll be incorporating these captivating images into my website, adding a fresh and exciting visual element to my portfolio. Some may have already seen some footage that I recently took with the drone, and it goes to show what I'm able to capture. I'm so looking forward to seeing what I can capture this summer! Below is a recent shot i took on the parka trail
