October Captures! 📸

Hi guys and welcome back to another monthly blog! Can't quite believe we are already in October and a few days from November, where has this time gone...

October has been another good month of learning and practicing my photography and editing skills. This month I'll talk about the sick drone footage I got down Westward Ho!. Updates on the recent client photos I have been doing, Against all odds new studio facility that looks amazing and finally what the future will be looking like and the goals I'm aiming to achieve!

Drone shots
I have recently been using my drone quite a bit getting footage for the pitch up shammy but also going down to Westward Ho! and capturing the sea and cliffside's. Rob Braddick is renovating a well know local bar down there called the "Fair way bouy" and i offered to get some arial shots showing the changes that will be made over the next few weeks!

It also allowed me to test out my photography skills on the drone camera as that can also be used to take photos and not just film. I also took a small clip of Westward Ho! that showed her in all its beauty! below you'll see both the videos and the shots I took of the bar. 📸

Client shoot

As I said I recently had my first client ask me to take some professional product shots. The company is called Jalapeño Warm ware. They are a local family that make dry robes and they reached out as they saw my previous work with AAO and they had only ever taken photos on a phones and don't have much experience in photography. I said I was happy to help and got to work thinking of different ways I could make the clothing stand out whilst also accounting for what they are used for. luckily we live right by a great beach thats got a big surfing presents so it was the perfect combination!

The weather was the hardest thing as its so sporadic and trying to find a sunny day and that the model (my cousin) would also be free was proving difficult! We recently found a day where it was dry but a little gloomy so I used it to test out locations and angles to see if they would work. Here are the few shots we got and they are happy with the direction they are going which is good news. hoping to get down on the beach soon for some shots weather depending! ☀️

Against All Odds Studio

Against all odds have recently got a new studio, they have rented a storage place and built the studio from the ground up now allowing us to take some sick photos and shots without having to travel super far and hiring them out!

We recently did our first shoot up there and straight away they were turning out fire! I did some behind the scenes shots just seeing what I could create and I thought they turned out pretty cool. AAO also said I could use the room for my own photography business with is such a nice gesture and I'm looking forward to seeing what happens in the future up there.

It's great to see what it started out as in a small cramped room to a massive studio and storage room. I'm happy I can be apart of the process and I'm excited for the future!! Here are some photos below from yesterdays shoot 📸

I did a small edit on these to get some more light for the first and third shot! I went for a little grain type look that I think works well with the low light. The middle shot was just from my phone which actually came out pretty decently.

October has been a pretty chill month, I haven't posted as much as I have wanted on other socials like Instagram and I should do to help boost my audience and get my work out there 📸 I've got a little bit of content now to post so hopefully I can start to stay a little consistent and hopefully land some potential clients! Thanks for reading and hopefully I'll catch you in next months blog ❤️
